Glad to hear that sentence inspired you. It really does warrant it's own post. There have been so many times where I've thrown out feature ideas or made dramatic changes solely because that why was unclear or non-existant, and it's not alway obvious until you start phrasing your stories.

Hi Ryan! It's been awhile and I hope you're doing well :)

I've had the same issues with mindmapping that you've had, but I'm also giving it another go. I like your approach here, and your revelation caused me to think about just how important the "Why?" is in user stories: http://www.chrisdidyk.com/why-you-do-something-is-always-important.html

Hi Ryan, I'm glad you got back on mindmapping. The more I use it the more useful I find it. I also like your approach to writing user stories, and think it is much clearer on showing the business value rather than using links from one node to another. I'll try that next time for sure.

Happy mindmapping!

Thanks!

It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to make a readline-lite that handles basic moving around the console and history buffer.

Thanks! That's a better writeup than I did. We need to hook in a pure ruby version of readline. Many people have an irbrc that needs that.
